Chapel School PTO Board Committees and Expectations

 

PTO BOARD MEMBER EXPECTATIONS

 

Attend Board Meetings – Held on Friday mornings at 8:30 AM or select evenings (Zoom option available). Consistent participation is important for planning and collaboration.

 

Join a Committee – Each board member helps plan or oversee at least one event, project, or initiative.

 

Support Saturday with Santa – All board members contribute to this signature event.

 

Volunteer In-Person – Participate in at least one PTO program or social event to help strengthen our community. Opportunities are available both during and outside of school hours.

 

Committees & Roles

Programming Committee

Plan and coordinate educational enrichment programs, speakers, and events.

Fundraising Committee

Organize and oversee fundraising events (Book Fair, Used Uniform Sales, etc.).

Social Committee

Plan community events like Back to School Socials, Bingo Night, and Saturday with Santa.

Faculty Appreciation Committee

Plan teacher appreciation events, classroom grants, and luncheons.

Service Committee

Lead service projects that support the school and the community.

Nominating Committee

Manage the PTO election process, from candidate selection to voting.

Communications Committee

Manage social media, newsletters, website, event promotion, and class parent communications.

Recording Secretary

Take accurate notes during PTO meetings and ensure documents are accessible.

Treasurer / Assistant Treasurer

Manage PTO finances, track income and expenses, and provide financial reports.

President / Vice-President

Lead the PTO, oversee meetings, support committees, and work with school leadership.
